Five-day freeride and off-piste ski course in Chamonix

This PirineoSur training trip combines five days of off-piste skiing in Chamonix with an instructor and guide. It is offered in winter for groups of three to six people and is aimed at intermediate or advanced skiers who want to improve on ungroomed snow while discovering different sectors of the valley.

Developing your off-piste skiing

Technical work covers balance, speed control, turning and adapting to changing snow. The proposal also includes terrain assessment, identifying risks and the foundations of safety equipment use. When enquiring, describe your experience on piste and off-piste so that the team can assess whether this programme matches your preparation.

The trip has a teaching focus: several days provide opportunities to revisit movements and discuss questions in the terrain. This does not replace the experience and continued learning needed to choose and undertake other mountain objectives.

Five ski days in the Chamonix valley

The published itinerary includes areas such as Argentière, the Vallée Blanche, Megève and Les Houches. The Vallée Blanche passes through glacial terrain with seracs and crevasses; descent choices must take account of conditions and the group. Confirm the itinerary arrangements with PirineoSur before travelling.

Accommodation, travel and included services

The trip information includes five days with a high mountain guide, accommodation and hut booking arrangements, five nights with breakfast in the Chamonix valley and return minibus travel from Spain. It also includes the guide’s ski-area pass, individual and shared safety equipment according to the equipment list, and 21% VAT.

Personal expenses, drinks, lunches and dinners are excluded, as are participants’ cable cars and ski-area passes. Review the equipment list and agree the departure point, times and accommodation details. Do not assume that skis are supplied: ask which equipment you need to bring.
