Explore alpine rock climbs graded IV to V+ in the Brenta Dolomites. Campanile Basso, Crozzon di Brenta and the surrounding limestone towers offer multi-pitch climbing in a distinctive Italian mountain landscape.
This trip is for climbers with the experience required for mountain routes. Your guide selects climbs according to your ability and the conditions.
The programme lasts five days, from July to September, for 1 to 2 people. Read the itinerary, prerequisites and included services, then arrange your meeting in the Dolomites with PirineoSur.
Mountain experience, good fitness, grade V+ climbing ability and basic crampon technique for glacier walking are required.
Long Alpine days require strong endurance. Altitude, successive days of activity, wind and low temperatures can increase fatigue and difficulty. Read the full programme and ask us if you are unsure about the required level.
Prepare with endurance exercise and mountain walks, using a loaded backpack and the boots and equipment intended for the trip. Break in new boots beforehand. Previous long mountain days, ideally including a 3,000 m summit in the Pyrenees, are useful preparation. You must be comfortable with exposed terrain and heights. An assessment outing with one of our guides can help confirm whether the route suits you.
Day 0: Meet from 18:00 at the Molveno tourist office, Piazza Marconi. Guide briefing, questions and backpack preparation. Dinner independently in Molveno.
Day 1: Torre d’Ambiez (2,840 m), Armani dihedral, 250 m, IV+. An early 4×4 transfer takes us to Cacciatore hut. Walk approximately 1 hour to Agostini hut (2,405 m), then another 30 minutes to the route. Climb on the rough, solid rock of the east face. Overnight at Agostini hut.
Day 2: Cima d’Ambiez (3,102 m), Vienna route, 375 m, V+. A classic and exposed route on excellent rough rock. Although partly equipped, additional cams are needed. Overnight at Agostini hut.
Day 3: Sentiero Martinazzi mountaineering route. An active recovery day moving to a new climbing area. Crampons may be required on glacier sections, depending on snow cover. Overnight at Brentei hut.
Day 4: Crozzon di Brenta (3,135 m), Via delle Guide, 915 m, IV / V+. A long, committing Brenta classic first climbed in 1935 by Bruno Detassis and Enrico Giordani. Overnight at Pedrotti hut.
Day 5: Campanile Basso (2,883 m), Preuss route, 300 m, IV / V. A striking tower and a historic route first climbed free and solo in 1911. Overnight in Molveno.

This progressive programme combines guided ascents with technical coaching. Acclimatisation and practice are built into the itinerary to help you develop your skills and prepare for the planned summits.
We follow normal routes that offer a strong sense of adventure. They require some mountain experience, good fitness and familiarity with technical equipment: you should be able to put on crampons and a harness and tie in independently. Previous experience on a 3,000-metre Pyrenean peak is a useful starting point; ask us about preparation courses.
Participants need sufficient fitness and technical ability to move independently under the guide’s supervision. One high mountain guide accompanies one or two participants, provides daily instructions and adapts the activity to conditions and safety considerations.
PirineoSur works with highly qualified professionals with extensive high mountain experience and more than 30 years of guiding in the Alps. Their qualifications meet the relevant requirements in Alpine countries, including France, Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland.
A guide helps manage the risks so you can make the most of your trip, but no mountain activity is entirely risk-free.
