Hire terms and conditions

General terms for mountain equipment hire

1. Purpose of the agreement

This agreement governs the hire of mountain equipment supplied by MIRANDO AL SUR, S.L.U. and its PirineoSur brand, hereinafter “the Company”, to the customer, hereinafter “the Hirer”.

2. Equipment supplied

The Company provides equipment in good condition and properly checked for use. The Hirer agrees to return it in the same condition in which it was received, allowing for normal wear and tear.

3. Hire period

The hire period is agreed when booking and starts when the equipment is handed over. Late return incurs a fixed additional charge of €25, plus the applicable daily hire charges for the extra days.

4. Conditions of use

The Hirer agrees to use the equipment in accordance with the instructions provided and to avoid unnecessary risks that could damage it.

5. Hirer’s responsibilities

Loss, theft or damage: if the hired equipment is lost, stolen or damaged, the Hirer must pay the cost of replacement with new equipment at the market price.

Damage: if hired equipment is damaged, the Hirer must pay the repair cost. If it cannot be repaired, the Hirer must pay the cost of replacement with new equipment at the market price.

Personal use: hired equipment is for the Hirer’s personal use and is not transferable. Sub-hire or use by third parties is prohibited.

Competence: the Hirer declares that they are competent to use the hired mountain equipment and releases the Company from liability in the event of an accident while using it.

6. Security deposit

The Company may request a security deposit, which will be returned when the equipment is returned in the agreed condition. If equipment is damaged or lost, the deposit will be used towards repair or replacement costs.

7. Payment

The hire price must be paid in full when collecting the equipment. If an extension is needed, the Hirer must contact the Company to check whether it is possible. Payment is accepted in cash only.

8. Cancellations

No refund is due if the Hirer ends the hire early after the hire period has started. Equipment bookings cancelled less than 48 hours before the hire period begins are also non-refundable.

9. Return of equipment

Equipment must be returned on the agreed date and at the agreed time. These must always be confirmed in advance by calling +34 607 697 586.

10. Exclusion of liability

The Company accepts no responsibility for injuries or personal harm resulting from use of the hired equipment. The Hirer is responsible for having the knowledge, experience and additional equipment necessary to use it safely.
