Brenta Dolomites via ferrata traverse: five days between huts

This hut-to-hut circuit crosses the Brenta massif, starting and finishing at Residence Ambiez in Madonna di Campiglio. The described stages link XII Apostoli, Tosa Pedrotti, Alimonta and Tuckett e Sella using routes such as Bocchette Centrali, Oliva Detassis, Bocchette Alte and Benini. It is distinct from vehicle-supported trips in other Dolomite areas: this proposal progresses between huts over five activity days, plus two travel days.

The Brenta traverse connects via ferratas through a hut-to-hut journey. Your backpack and fitness need to suit consecutive high mountain days with the programme’s elevation changes and terrain. Agreeing on stages, accommodation terms and the meeting in Madonna di Campiglio helps organise travel. Describe your hiking experience and comfort with heights to assess the circular itinerary’s ferratas.

The via ferrata activity is led by a high mountain guide.

Preparation for high mountain terrain

The advertised physical and technical level is moderate. Requirements describe 6–17 km stages with 700–1,300 metres of ascent, plus the descent, on paths that may be rough or poorly marked. Previous experience is not compulsory, but physical preparation and confidence with heights are needed. Describe your mountain experience so the itinerary can be assessed.

Arrangements and equipment

Review the clothing, footwear and technical equipment list. It includes waterproof layers, warm clothing, via ferrata gloves, headtorch, sleeping bag liner, helmet, harness and energy absorber, plus the listed items for snow or glacier terrain. PirineoSur can provide technical equipment you do not own if requested. Confirm what to bring and the accommodation and meal arrangements before booking.
