Four-day winter adventure holiday for families near Jaca

Enjoy four days of winter activities with your children in the Spanish Pyrenees. The programme combines snowshoeing, a cave visit, via ferrata and an introductory ski session in the Tena and Aragón valleys.

Explore snowy landscapes, underground passages and equipped rock routes. Check the requirements for each activity to ensure the programme suits everyone in your family.

The holiday is offered from December to April for groups of 3 to 8. Meet at the individual activity starting points; confirm times, equipment and included services with PirineoSur.

Equipment needed

Comfortable sports clothing for mountain walking and cold weather, including gloves, warm hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Backpack with a water bottle, food and some spare clothing.
Do not wear trainers on the snowshoeing day: mountain boots or snow boots are suitable. Sports shoes can be worn on the other days.

Outline programme: 4 days of winter family adventure

The stay combines four activities around Jaca and the Spanish Pyrenees. They are organised as activity blocks, with a flexible order.

Snowshoeing: discover the winter landscape on a walk across the snow.
Cave exploration: a straightforward outing for a different shared family experience.
Via ferrata: follow an equipped route after an explanation of the equipment and movement guidelines.
Introduction to skiing: a first experience of skiing.

The listed meeting point is the PirineoSur office in Jaca, at C/ Antonio Beltrán, 1. Ask when booking if you need a different meeting point. A zipline park visit is optional and must be discussed separately.

Jaca and the Aragonese Pyrenees

Jaca is worth visiting for its history as well as its mountain setting. Discover the cathedral, citadel, clock tower and town hall, then enjoy the city’s welcoming restaurants and lively tapas bars.

Around 20 minutes from the heart of the Pyrenees, Jaca offers access to four nearby ski centres and a landscape of peaks rising above 3,000 metres.
