Boca del Infierno canyoning with a guide

Explore Boca del Infierno canyon in the Hecho Valley with PirineoSur. The route combines aquatic passages, jumps and pools in the scenery of the Spanish Pyrenees.

Your guide organises the descent according to water levels, conditions and the participants’ experience. Read the specific prerequisites to check that the canyon suits your ability.

The activity lasts approximately three to four hours, from May to October, for 2 to 8 people. Check the included services and equipment list, then confirm your meeting with PirineoSur in Jaca.

Included

  • Qualified professional canyoning guide.
  • Initial assistance insurance.
  • Shared equipment: ropes, first-aid kit, radio and watertight barrel, among other items.
  • Personal equipment: wetsuit, neoprene socks, harness, helmet, anchor lanyard and descender, plus one backpack for every two participants.
  • Photos of the activity.

Not included

What to bring

  • Comfortable sports clothing for the mountain approach to the canyon, and swimwear.
  • A bag to leave in the car with spare clothes in case yours get wet, a water bottle and food.
  • Footwear is important: lace-up shoes with rubber soles and good ankle support, such as canyoning shoes, sports shoes or hiking shoes. Bring a spare pair to change into when you return to the car.
  • Swimwear, towel and warm, dry clothes for after the canyon.
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring a suitable way to prevent losing them during the activity.

A moderate level of fitness is required for approximately 3–4 hours of activity. Previous canyoning experience is not compulsory; you should be able to swim or at least be comfortable in the water.

This level is particularly suited to people who have completed level 1, are repeating level 2 or have tried canyoning before. It is recommended for sporty, adventurous adults and young people looking for a more exciting outing without major technical difficulties.

Outline schedule

Meet at 10:00 at the PirineoSur office, Calle Antonio Beltrán 1, ground floor, Jaca, Huesca. If you need a different meeting point, ask when booking whether this is possible.

After collecting the equipment, we drive in participants’ own vehicles to the canyon access point. There we put on wetsuits, helmets and harnesses, then walk to the canyon entrance. Your guide explains the safety procedures and movement techniques before the descent. The activity ends when we return to the vehicles.
