These routes, designed for people with some experience or good physical condition, offer a balance between adventure and safety, making them ideal for enjoying the mountains from another perspective.
What is a level 2 via ferrata?
Via ferratas are itineraries equipped with cables, steps, bridges, and other elements that allow you to safely ascend rock faces. Level 2 demands greater physical and technical effort than basic levels, featuring more vertical sections and steps requiring strength and agility.
These routes are ideal for:
• People with basic ferrata experience: If you have already completed level 1 via ferratas, this is the next step in your progress.
• Adventurers in good physical shape: These are more demanding routes, but accessible for those seeking a challenge.
• Nature lovers: Discover unique places while experiencing the thrill of progressing up walls and edges.
A low to moderate level of fitness is needed. No previous experience is required, but you must be comfortable with heights.
This introduction to via ferrata is suitable for children, families and school groups. It combines metal ladders, climbing and guided progression in the Pyrenees, with views of the Tena Valley or the Sorrosal waterfall, depending on the route.
A via ferrata is a climbing route equipped with metal rungs and other fixed aids. Participants wear a harness, helmet and energy-absorbing via ferrata lanyard, clipping onto the fixed safety cable along the route.
The outing starts with the walk from the vehicle to the foot of the route. We put on our equipment and climb using the fixed aids, gaining height and increasingly open views. After reaching the top, we descend on a walking path.
We begin by distributing the equipment and driving in participants’ own vehicles to the via ferrata. It is also possible to meet directly at the start. After putting on harnesses and helmets, we walk to the foot of the wall, where the guide gives the final safety and progression briefing.
The via ferrata can take place in the morning or afternoon, depending on weather and how busy the route is. It is particularly suitable for combining with canyoning.
Allow half a day for the activity. Afterwards, you can stay to swim in the river or continue with other activities included in your chosen programme.
