Bivouac equipment and sleeping bag.
Gore-Tex jacket and trousers.
Thick trousers or lightweight fleece trousers, and a 200-weight fleece.
Thermal base layer and a spare.
Thin and thick socks, plus spares.
Gloves and a spare pair.
Warm hat, sun cap, sunglasses and ski goggles.
45–50 litre backpack.
Headtorch.
Sun protection for face and lips, and after-sun lotion.
Water bottle or flask of at least 1.5 litres, and electrolyte salts.

Explore the Midi d’Ossau area on a two-day snowshoe trip, spending the night in the unstaffed part of Pombie refuge. The journey combines views of this distinctive Pyrenean mountain with an overnight winter hut experience.

First day: head towards the Peyreguet peak area, then continue to Pombie refuge for the night.
Second day: explore the Midi area via the col de Souzon and return through the valle de la Neu.
