Guided snowshoeing weekend in the Spanish Pyrenees

Discover the Tena and Aragón valleys on two guided snowshoe day trips. This weekend programme explores varied winter landscapes in the mountains around Jaca.

Your guide chooses routes according to snow conditions and the group’s ability. Consult the programme for daily arrangements, transfers and included services.

Trips run from December to May for 2 to 8 people, at an intermediate level. Check the prerequisites and equipment list, then contact PirineoSur in Jaca to arrange your dates.

Two days with a mountain guide.
Technical equipment: snowshoes and poles.

What you need to bring

Gore-Tex jacket and trousers.
Thick trousers or lightweight fleece trousers, and a 200-weight fleece.
Thermal base layer and a spare.
Thin and thick socks, plus spares.
Gloves and a spare pair.
Warm hat, sun cap, sunglasses and ski goggles.
45–50 litre backpack.
Headtorch.
Sun protection for face and lips, and after-sun lotion.
Water bottle or flask of at least 1.5 litres, and electrolyte salts.

No previous mountain experience is required. You simply need an interest in learning to use snowshoes and a taste for adventure. If you are unsure which outing suits you, contact us and we will help you choose the appropriate level.

Meet at 08:30 at the PirineoSur office or the point requested when booking, then travel to the start.

Day 1: Ascend to the Anayet lakes.

Day 2: Climb Pico de Canal Roya.
