Extreme adventure: Level 3 canyoning in the Pyrenees with PirineoSur

Are you ready to push your skills to the limit and experience an adrenaline-packed adventure? At PirineoSur, we invite you to discover level 3 canyoning, an activity designed for true adventurers seeking intense excitement in a spectacular environment. Advanced level canyons in the Pyrenees offer technical challenges, vertiginous descents, and breathtaking landscapes that will leave you breathless.

This level requires strong physical fitness and technical ability for a canyoning day lasting 7–10 hours. You must have completed several canyons, or a level 2 canyon with us so that we can assess your ability.

It is intended for adults with previous level 2 experience who can progress independently while the guide supervises safety.

What you need to bring

  • Comfortable sports clothing for the mountain walk to the canyon entrance.
  • A bag to leave in the car with spare clothes in case yours get wet, a water bottle and food.
  • Footwear is important: lace-up shoes with rubber soles and good ankle support, such as canyoning shoes, sports shoes or hiking shoes. Bring a spare pair to change into when you return to the car.
  • Swimwear, towel and warm, dry clothes for after the canyon.
  • If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring a suitable way to prevent losing them during the activity.

Equipment we can lend you

  • Shared equipment: ropes, first-aid kit, radio and watertight barrel, among other items.
  • Personal equipment: wetsuit, neoprene socks, harness, helmet, safety lanyard and descender, plus one backpack for every two participants.
  • A watertight barrel if you need to keep belongings dry.

Meet at 10:00 at the PirineoSur office, Calle Antonio Beltrán 1, ground floor, Jaca, Huesca. If you need a different meeting point, ask when booking whether this is possible.

After collecting the equipment, we drive in participants’ own vehicles to the canyon access point. There we put on wetsuits, helmets and harnesses, then walk to the canyon entrance. Your guide explains the safety procedures and movement techniques before the descent. The activity ends when we return to the vehicles.
